american weekend

As i previously said we are having some friends from Utah over this weekend!
it's been amazing!!! the sullivans left this afternoon but we got to see the american cemetery and it was so cool! steve became all patriotic and so did josh so it was really cool! oh and steve and i decided that i was 1/4 american ( i think it was 1/4); i'll be 1/3 american when i go to BYU and 1/2 american when (or rather if) i marry some american guy; so i can say that i was proud of being there too!!
so this is actually a really new experience for me (sorry i suck at prepositions) because i always get (literally) SICK when i don't study for my exams (and i have 4 this week) but i decided that i wasn't going to study a lot (i'm gonna do it tonight at work) because i want to spend the most time i can with them because i love having people here and i love them!
steve and josh served here in lux (switzerland geneva mission) and yeah we weren't really buddies while they were here but i now i really like them and i am happy because when josh was here i got to spend some time with him (and his 2 other comps) but i didn't with steve so i am actually getting to know a good friend and someone that really understands my randomness / weirdness!! he's really cool and i loved the sullivans!! Life is sweet!!!!!!

i dont know really why, but steve and i liked the "moore" which makes me think of the duck named "moore" story ( a 'mission' story=

The Star-Spangled Banner

Oh, say, can you see, by the dawn's early light,
What so proudly we hail'd at the twilight's last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars, thro' the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watch'd, were so gallantly streaming?
And the rockets' red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof thro' the night that our flag was still there.
O say, does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?
On the shore dimly seen thro' the mists of the deep,
Where the foe's haughty host in dread silence reposes,
What is that which the breeze, o'er the towering steep,
As it fitfully blows, half conceals, half discloses?
Now it catches the gleam of the morning's first beam,
In full glory reflected, now shines on the stream:
'T is the star-spangled banner: O, long may it wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!
And where is that band who so vauntingly swore
That the havoc of war and the battle's confusion
A home and a country should leave us no more?
Their blood has wash'd out their foul footsteps' pollution.
No refuge could save the hireling and slave
From the terror of flight or the gloom of the grave:
And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.
O, thus be it ever when freemen shall stand,
Between their lov'd homes and the war's desolation;
Blest with vict'ry and peace, may the heav'n-rescued land
Praise the Pow'r that hath made and preserv'd us as a nation!
Then conquer we must, when our cause is just,
And this be our motto: "In God is our trust"
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

it's time to update this blog

a lot of things have been happening lately and i didn't have any time to update my blog! as i finished studying and as i'm waiting for dinner i just decided that now was actually the right moment to do it, cause i know that i won't have any time this week.
so as i said a lot has been going on lately

1) i have been pondering a lot lately and i just noticed that all of my closest friends have been going through a special ... 'growing' or 'having-a-lot-of-experiences' period. my 2 guys-best friends are on a mission. one of them is just having a blast and has a lot (really a lot) of baptismal dates and the other one is training! my 3 girl-best friends have been through special periods as well! both of them have been having a lot of revelation about themselves and their future and one of them went to the temple for the 1st time (except for baptisms)! the point of me writing this is that i feel that i have kind of been blessed through all of them. i have been going through one of those periods too and I've just been a lot closer to the spirit lately! i LOVE the gospel and the church! i know it's true and it's so comforting to know the TRUTH! i love the book of mormon and i know that it is the word of God! i really love this gospel and am so grateful for joseph smith!!

2) we are witnessing a miracle!!!!
last saturday we had FHE at the Mputus and as i am the YSA representative I organised it! on tuesday i was scared cause NOBODY was texting me back and i really thought there was gonna be 5 of us there! but what was my surprise when i saw 13 other people than me there!! i think i owe the non-luxembourg ward people an explanation before i continue! we just started YSA in luxembourg something like 2 months ago and there are 4 ative YSA! that's why we invite the laurels and the 16+ year old young men (who, never actually come) and we invite a loooot of investigators, which is a good thing isn't it? but we've never really witnessed a miracle with all of these investigators coming but on saturday something really cool happened! so 8 of us took the train to go to the Mputus and 4 more people took the car to get there! earlier in the week i called the sister missionaries to ask them if they were coming and they said "yes, we don't have any investigator that confirmed but there is gonna be a miracle by then" they didn't know how right they were. so saturday we were on the train and the sisters started saying "mark mark mark.." and i asked them who that mark was and they said it was the investigator they asked to come and he had asked them to bring a friend. so we got out of the train and there they were: mark and daniel. we went to the mputus and just spent a wonderful time and then jessica said "ok what was your best and your worst moment this week" and daniel said that that evening had been the best moment and he said he was gonna come to church on sunday and he DID!! and he came to institute and he said he was gonna read the BOM. He said he loved the time he spent with us and that he had felt that we were a lot different from other people in a good way! so basically he's kind of a miracle! i really hope he's gonna get baptized some day! =) this is really cool!! i am so happy and excited about it =)

Missionary Story...

so here i am again..
i'm completely stressed out (not at this moment exactly cuz it's 11pm here in lux) because i have a lot of stuff going on at the same time:
1) SCHOOL!!! it's so much work and i'm on vacation so it's hard to actually WANT to study ( i did start though -> law and economics and i did some of my german homework)! oh well school...

2) i have my drivers licence some time soon (the exam) and i'm nervous but i actually love driving and i'm looking forward to having my own pick-up truck =)

3) i have this ward talentshow that i'm organizing and it takes a lot of time, dedication and work! and i'm planning on doing a lot of stuff but the reason i called this post 'missionnary story' is because my good friend olivia and me wrote this song! everything started on a sunday after church! she came to my house and we did some scrapbooking (well i did.. she was talking to me) and i was complaining about how jerky some people can be and she started singing the story i was telling her on the ' i will survive' tune and then we went of on changing taylor swift's "love story" lyrics into this:

you were on ur mission when i first saw u
i close my eyes and the flash-back starts
u're standing there
with your badge saying "missionnaire"

see the suit see the book of mormon
see u convert people to the church
but most say no
u carry on even though

u were an elder u were preaching the gospel
and your parents said stay away from pretty girls
with transfers on their way
i was praying u wouldnt go

and i said
stay on ur mission after we can be alone
i'll be waiting for u till u can go home
we'll have a date and we'll say we're forever
its a love story and i'll miss u

the transfers come and im sitting there crying
im reading the scriptures, they remind me of u
u're sad to go
but u have to even though

u were an elder u were preaching the gospel
and you had to leave so that you could spread the word
though you were everything to me
i knew that you had to go

so i said
stay on ur mission after we can be alone
i'll be waiting for u till u can go home
we'll have a date and we'll say we're forever
its a love story and i'll miss u

Romeo save me, they're trying to tell me how to feel
This love is difficult, cause of the rules
Don't be afraid, you will return with honour
It's a Love Story, baby, just say yes
Oh, Oh

I got tired of waiting,
Wondering if you were ever coming around
My faith in you was fading
When I met you on the outskirts of town
And I said...

Romeo save me, I've been feeling so alone
i didn't know that two years could feel like so long
Is this in my head, I don't know what to think
you knelt to the ground and pulled out a ring and said...

Marry me Juliet, you'll never have to be alone
I love you, and that's all I really know
I talked to your dad, go pick out a white dress
It's a Love Story, baby just say... yes.
Oh, Oh... Oh, Oh, Oh

i think we're gonna sing it at the talentshow! there is an elder here (elder todd harris) and he just LOVES taylor swift and i think he's gonna laugh a loooot!!!!

so i am basically sitting here all alone -my mom and my pets are sleepin'- and i'm listening to 'here comes goodbye' by rascal flatts and now i'm gonna listen to 'what hurts the most' by rascal flatts. my best friend made me discover this band and i love it! i love their songs because they actually mean something! which makes me think of this super cool thing that olivia wrote about songs that actually mean sth...
anyway, i'm sitting here talking to my best friend on facebook (she's in utah now) and i miss her! i really do!! she's so cool and i love her with all my heart! she lifts me up! she really does...
and i'm talking to my newest friend: maima!! she's such a sweet girl!! oh wow she really is! i just started talking to her like on saturday and we're such goodfriends now! she's coming over to Lux in 2 weeks and im looking forward to it! she's such a cool and nice and funny girl! i think we're kind of the same and that makes life good!! =)

i'm lacking ideas so i'll just end this random post...=)

Musicalia 10

Last Thursday and Friday we had this show at school which we call 'musicalia' and this year the topic was '10',random huh? so it was actually really hard to write something- the brainstorming took forever- but finally we did have some ideas and according to other people we did an amazing job!
i think the best thing was i got to know a lot of new people and that we are friends now! it was amazing and i decided to share this event with the people that follow my blog (i don't actually believe that there is anybody following it but oh well maybe there will, one day...)

180th Church birthday

on the april 24 we had this party at my house where we celebrated the 180th church anniversary! there were a lot of people and as the weather was nice we had a BBQ party! there was a lots of food (my mom always buys a lot of food)! we played really cool games: ties;spoons and so on!!
we had so much fun celebrating the restoration of the church!!

did u notice br. turner? ha ha ha he kills me

i think i want to share my testimony that I know this is the true church!
i don't know how i know it but the thing is i kow it and i won't ever be able to explain exactly what i feel; just as i can't explain the reason why i love chocolate but i know i love it! i asked and i got my answer! i just invite everybody to give it a try: "ask and ye shall receive, knock and it shall be opened unto you"

"If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him."

After the activity we went to the family rodriguez where we had FHE! it was amazing! we had a lot of fun singing "love me but don't show me" ;)

You make me feel so handsome, like a shining dark stallion,
I love the way you wear your young women's medallion.
You know girl, I love you, but I hope you comprehend,
This body is a Temple - and you don't got no recommend.

FHE

May1 was an important day for the luxembourg young adults:we started our very first spiritchal challenge: BOM in 2 months and then go with the missionnaries and try to give it to somebody! i really love challenges and i hope that the other young adults will love it as much as i do =)
